Physicians

Palmetto Bone & Joint’s team of experienced orthopedic surgeons is energetic and dedicated to delivering quality care. We treat everyone with respect and compassion, regardless of their ability to pay. We also believe in giving back to the community. Our surgeons participate in local free medical clinics and see patients at the Whitten Center.

Dr. Phillip Milner Dr. Phillip Milner
Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Milner is a board certified orthopedic surgeon. He earned his medical degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in orthopedics at the Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the South Carolina Medical Association and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics. Dr. Milner enjoys horse racing, golfing and watching high school and college sports.
 
Dr. John Hibbitts Dr. John Hibbitts
Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Hibbitts is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and specializes in sports medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas and completed his residency at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia. Dr. Hibbitts completed his fellowship at Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, under the training of Dr. Frank Noyes. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, South Carolina Medical Association, and Texas Medical Association. Dr. Hibbitts enjoys rugby, karate and bodybuilding.
 
Dr. William Owens Dr. William Owens
Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Owens is a board certified orthopedic surgeon. He earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He went on to complete a fellowship in hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery at the University of Florida. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the South Carolina Orthopedic Association, the Florida Orthopedic Association, and the Florida Hand Society. Dr. Owens enjoys golfing and snow skiing.
 
Dr. James Loging Dr. James Loging
Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. James Loging is a board eligible orthopedic surgeon. He earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and completed his orthopedic internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center. He is a member of the South Carolina Medical Society. A native to Newberry, South Carolina, Dr. Loging enjoys participating in triathlons.

Tommy Scott Whitehead Tommy Scott Whitehead
Physician Assistant
Mr. Whitehead is a board certified physician assistant. He earned his bachelor's of science degree as a physician assistant from the University of Nebraska. Prior to that, he earned his bachelor's of science in Exercise Studies and a bachelor's of science in Nursing from Lander University in Greenwood, SC. He is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants. Mr. Whitehead enjoys spending time with his children and outdoor activities.
